In elementary school, this was only a figment of my imagination. I was Salutatorian of my graduating class and got a chance to give a speech in front of my classmates, our parents , love ones, and the faculty. Towards the end of the speech, I went off script and told everyone that I wanted to be the first black president. Ever since I was little, I always wanted to be great. I dreamed of being a well-known leader. (As you know, Barack Obama @barackobama stole my thunder 😂.) The crowd laughed and gave me a standing ovation as I accepted my awarded and returned to my seat. I’m sure they laughed because they thought that I was playing or thought it was cute because I was young. I didn’t see what was funny, because I actually believed everything that I stated out of my mouth. Kids Dream Big! I graduated elementary years ago, but I remember the feeling to this date. I said to myself as I returned to my seat, that will not be my last time speaking and giving hope to others.
A fellow entrepreneur @respectthequeenllc posted this pic of me speaking at 360 events business mixer and I couldn’t stop smiling. It brings joy to see that regardless of all the things that I’ve been through, I am on path to actualizing the dream.
